Issac Newton did not "discover" gravity, it was already there, the same way Christopher fucking Columbus did not "discover" America.

He discovered it through geometry. Optics was based in geometry, Planetary motion was geometry (described by kepler) and alchemy was based on geometry.
His calculus is just a mathematical representation of the geometry.

Either way Isaac Newton was the greatest scientist and intellectual of all time, comet or apple, though I personally prefer the Apple.
