Long Range Shooting - Long range 895 yard shot at pepsi can.

long range shooting at a pepsi can with a steel plate backdrop so you can see the near hits. If you think hitting a pepsi can at 895 yards is easy think again.

We did this shot with moderate winds and nailed the pepsi can on the 4th shot.
To make long range shooting possible at distances like these we use a Kestral weather station and a program called Exbal on a handhelp PDA.

We load our own bullets (when we can get 'em) and we test loads for accuracy.

We load all the load data into the program and we get bullet drop and wind correction at any distance we input.

Using a Leica 1200 range finder we measure distance, we then input temp., wind, hunidit, barometric pressure, and altitude and the computer spits out a MOA adjustment for distance and a correction for wind.

The result is great accuracy over large distances.

Its great that we have technology tospit out the MOAs. I hope when I get my Scout Sniper billet I will be profiecient enough in my head. Thats how I learned anyhow. just a bunch of hit and miss. evenually a person gets the feel of where the shot will be even before the shot is not taken. kinda like shooting a bow without sights. Its really fun, and I got good at it. Hey, great shooting BTW!
