Baxter is a 19-year-old therapy dog. He visits hospice patients and their families to whom he brings comfort and love. During the last six years, Baxter has helped hundreds of patients ease out of their lives with dignity and peace. His uncanny intuition and almost human responsiveness demonstrates the unique and inextricable bond between human and dog.

  • .........Every Animal ABUSER should see this video!

  • ...Don't they think what Baxter feels? I meen, he helps people to die with comfort. How does he feel when everyone who strokes him die in a couple of days?

  • So this dog is supposed to be at home, waiting to die? I would imagine that they (Baxter and the patients) are good for each other. He isn't asked to "do" anything except be. And he's stroked, kissed and held...and he kisses back, too! I think it's simply beautiful.

  • :O HOW can this be allowed?

Is this poor dog (who looked like he was already dead) the only dog that can be trained to be a therapy-dog? I don't think so.

    This made me very sad.

And how anyone can say that this dog enjoyed his life at this stage is beyond me.

  • Poor poor Baxter! How can anyone do that to someone that they love?

  • It is really heartbreaking to watch how egoistic human beings can be. I am glad that this would be considered a high level of animal cruelty in Sweden. All I see in that dog's eyes is complete emptiness and apathy. I don't believe the owners of this dog meant to be cruel to him, I'm sure they just wanted his best..but please people. Dogs are not humans, they don't think like we do and they don't function like us at all. This video made me incredibly sad. Poor dog.

  • beautiful...your movie has touched my very soul...thank you for posting :) x

  • muito comovente e deveras uma lição de vida... obrigado Baxter !!!!!1

  • I'm a Hospice Nurse and a dog mama and to see this video and feel the love that Baxter gave to people at the end of their life was so wonderful. I know that he received just as much from them, as he gave. You can see the joy on the faces and the contentment on Baxter's. What a truly amazing exchange. I was sobbing throughout the whole video. Thank you for letting Baxter bring joy to people that need it most. I'm certain the reason why he lived this long was because of what he did.
