Unfortunately, it's for real. I called his office to complain and his staff lied to me outright. They told me this wouldn't be used against Americans. When I pressed the issue, they told me that terror suspects would essentially lose their citizenship. That's how they justified the lie that it was not to be used on US citizens.

We can see now how they lied. The man who sent ricin to the President and the Senator is being charged as an American citizen while he wants the Muslim bomber to have his citizenship stripped to prosecute him as an "enemy combatant". If it was another Timothy McVeigh I seriously doubt they would be stripping his citizenship.
