@polpot28: thing is most the post independence gangsters who ruined these nations went to the same schools that educated the former colonial rulers. Substantially, the change, as far as it even was a change, was b/t bodies not of mentalities. Didn't Britain herself ruin her economy, in the 50s, 60s, & 70s, w/ the same socialist illusions. The only difference being, that the former colonials had less political opposition to resist socialism, & Soviet support to insulate them from their folly.

@VimbaiZ I agree for those who were in power,Rhodesia must have been the greatest place on earth!But after almost 40years of independence most african countries are in a complete mess!With freedom & independence comes repsonsibility & good governance, concepts which I'm afriad Africans dont have! u can argue all u want but that is an undeniable fact!Africans wanted independence but now they no-longer wish to live under black rule,so they flock to europe in herds!why is that the case?ask urself?
