Might be a stupid question but why does everyone put the blade down first? Surely it would just pick up all the stuff coming off the block and dull the blade, at least thats what ive found it does. Although Im not great at this yet.
That is a very bad thing to do with a knife, pound the DS out of nails. Right tool for the right job is what Papa taught me! Use a hammer to pound nails. Using a knife will de-temper the steel. Every idiot knows that!
@bushcraftbrothers737 actualy he does, but he only uses it when he is in the right enviroment, eg when he was on a tropical island he used a parang to make shelter and crack open coconuts, and he uses an axe when in the aporpeate area, he is a pretty smart dude, and a plesure to watch
