The Man in the Sea Memorial Monument Board of Directors is proud to present the design concept for a memorial to be dedicated to divers from all branches of the United States military.
With support from the 501(C)3 non profit Homeland Policy Security Institute, HDR architects and a group of motivated board members who span a range of businesses and organizations connected with diving in the United States, the board of directors is currently seeking authorization from the U.S. Navy to raise up to $10 million in private funds to complete the final design and construct a memorial in our nations capital on the grounds of the historic Washington Navy Yard at the former site of the U.S. Navy Dive School.

Beautifully done and I would like to submit to you my support to help you achieve this goal. Thank you for hard work and commitment to this project. One of the posts below mentions whether this man is black or white. I am so sorry that this seems important to anyone. Carl Brashear, decease and whose sculpture has been carved in granite by my friend, Viktor, was the first black Navy Diver. I don't think it matters if these men are orange. Seems that some people are still living in the past
