Everything changes. Every moment in time is unique unto itself. Every moment in time carries a shadow of the past and in many ways the future is nothing more than a projection of the past. What happened before is going to happen again, although in exactly what way is hard to predict.

The nature of change is that you have to have the capacity for it. Whether you're trying to go from one chi gung movement to the next, from walking the ba gua circle to changing directions, going from one meditative state to another or going from one event in life to another, you must be able to change.

  • fast and relaxed is the ba gua way

  • Hi Mike, this is a cooperative demo, not a real fight. You can see when he fist touches Sam he gets control of him, the rest is just flourish. In the late 80's ba gua techniques weren't well known, so at the time, this was indeed quite "new" in the USA. I guess my perspective is different because I've been on the receiving end of his Ba Gua, and been laid out flat repeatedly. It is quite utilitarian. xyq

  • @ninpomasta111 That was what I was wondering too. I wouldn't rush into a fighter period. Sit back and take their legs out with shin kicks, and yes the wonderful use of the jab to an elbow. Jab to a hook punch. Jab to just about anything. Instead of just rushing in. How does this style perform against that? Their is a science to Muay Thai, kickboxing in general but from a distance what does this style excel at?

  • I love the spinning back sweep @ 27sec. It is used alot and very effective if timed correctly. This art has taught me how to get behind someone in a real fight, which in my case is a good thing because Im not a big guy, and can really make use of what I do have by pushing, pulling, angling, just getting the opposition off balance while attacking. Not everyone does it this way, but it works for me very well.

  • I love Ba Gua.

  • I studed the 'basics' of ba gua. however after weeks of circle walking and no real direction I hated it and prefaired long boxing/kung fu. After seeing this video my oppinion has changed.

    Many thanks for sharing!

  • wow very very good xD. But remember all martial arts are good, theres no such thing as the best martial art,or so call " undefeatable martial art" . Its solely depend on the fighter he himself. After all styles dont fight styles, people do. GOGOG bagua!

  • @skedeejatuhoa When a martial artist especially an internal martial artist looks fat it is simply that he/she is practicing deep belly breathing. This is where internal power originates.

  • Remember I was here.Thai

  • I too would like to see some more internal martial arts in MMA avenues. Or, at the very least, I would like to see some strike defense applications shown on more internal videos.

If you notice, a lot of techniques are done against an attacker who performs full body punches. Which is good, full body attacks are dangerous... but what about someone who tries to take you apart with jabs? Or leg kicks?

Plenty of MMA guys have their legs collapse under them just from leg kicks. How do you defend?

  • he'd do just fine. don't think he will, though...

  • Bruce was and to this day is the greatest fighter who's ever come out of america. He's killed men in the ring during full contact competitions. But then he hurt his back. and got fat. But i still imagine he'd be able to destroy most any MMA fighter.
