This interview on the street was with local color "Darryl the Clown" and his Toy Car circa 4-28-1988. Anybody remember him? Shot & edited by Chris Gomersall. Interviewer is Kimberley Geary.

  • Darryl has indeed passed away many years ago but he is also featured in a film called Wild

    Wheels by Harrod Blank.

  • 6th Street isn't quite the same without him.

  • Oh yeah! I remember Darryl the Clown with his 'Duck Call' voice, not only did he have the car with the toys all over it; he had the exact make and model car without the toys on it. People asked him how he got the toys on and off when they would see him in the toyless car. He would take care of the throw away children on the streets of Austin, giving them food and clothes etc. Last I heard he had gotten sick and went back up north where he was from and died, many years ago. Kept Austin Weird
