I was at Epcot and thought there isn't a better place in the world to talk about all the comics I like. Well here we go this week with another review.
***Side note***
There is a great artist that I met at the comic book convention 2 years ago and saw him again at the expo this year. His work is incredibly detailed and absolutly wonderful. His name is Kent Burles and if you want commissioned art he is the man to speak to. His rates are well within reason for the work that he does and as you'll see later in this cast the art is truly outstanding. His e-mail address is kmburles@cogeco.ca
****End Side note****
First off in graphic Novels is a great Manga series called Battle Royale. This sick twisted and distrubing story is probably one of the best examples of why you should take another look at imported graphic novels.
The story about a government sponsored battle to the death that pits grade nine students against each other is one of the most twisted stories I've ever had the pleasure of reading.
In other graphic novels we have The Goon. A rough and tough guy who enforces for the mob in a weird and twisted world with talking fish and hands that can pound newscasters (gee don't we all wish that part was real?) In any case it's a great story filled with strange characters and wonderful art.
As for new releases; Thor 4 has finally made it out. Again this is part of the rebuilding of Asgard and finding Thor's family, but the problem is that the stories are still a little to slow for me.
Batman and the Outsiders #1. Batman has managed to assemble a great team that has lots of wit and sillyness but still tell a good story. This first issue is a little slow but I still like it. Well worth trying out even if you don't know anyone on the roster.
Until next week, friends, keep reading.
Why didn't you just go like 7 more steps to Japan?
