The Veteran and the Pretty Lady

This is a song written by my dad...Jerry Spier. This is what he told me about the song...
Someone once asked me why do you love the military so much, since you never served. This was my reply.

In 1961, I was rejected by the Marine Corp. due to poor vision.
In 1964, I was drafted by the Army but deferred due to recently marrying.
In 1966, I was drafted the 2nd time, but deferred again due to having 1 child.
In 1968, I was drafted the 3rd time, but deferred again due to having 2 children.
All 4 times I probably would have been sent to a country called Vietnam. But 4 times someone took my place. It is very possible that someone could have died for me.
