The problem with using steel for a magnet motor is that when you run a magnet along steel in the same direction over and over, the steel will magnetize. I think you may very well end up with more magnets than you started with. You should try using Mu-metal instead. Mu-metal typically has relative permeability values of 80,000–100,000 compared to several thousand for ordinary steel. Several sites on E-Bay sell for a reasonable price. So there you go. Now you can shield it. Good luck!
All you have to do is to think a little more or to consult with other people because you have some black areas that you can't pass of understanding. If you are trying to do this by yourself i don't see it a good idea.
for the dummies who comment in a negative fashion on this guy's video, springs and magnets and many more things can be used to generate kinetic energy. (which is one of many sources of energy) - I have been messing around with plasma energy which is lightly radioactive and produces ridiculous amounts of energy. It's also renewable and never runs out as well as it's unaffected by electromagnetic pulses. I'm sure the government would love to get their hands on that.
I think you're onto something. I saw an electromagnet gyro-sphere run all by itself. The person started the rotation and used a little bit of electricity, then after it was moving, it was producing electricity by itself. It was pretty cool. You're very smart. Perhaps make a larger-sized one or use wires instead of magnets glued to the wheel. I think you're getting good output because the magnets are angled. -have a good one, and remember... anything is possible, no matter what people say.
Fair play to you, keep on trying.
