  • This boiler can easily make steam. But not designed or fitted with the proper controls to safety do so. I run the boiler at 210 degrees f . If the boiler overrfires and creates steam you could blow any heat lPex tubing in the .system and dry fire the unit. A miniature meltdown may take place.

  • Sweet! I'm just now looking into installing this boiler. Do you maintain any backup system?

  • Absolutely , Most important part of the installation is design the system to seamlessly integrate with your existing system without too much overlapping or both system running at the same time ..

  • No smoke or particulate coming off that chimney. Amazing to see that temperature flame from wood. This is the future, folks.

  • All it takes for that kind of combustion is good dry wood with relatively small splits and a well engineered hydronic system ,to use / store all that energy . Going on 2 1/2 years of operation and have not had to take the boiler apart to clean heat exchanger , just light gray powder dust left over .

  • that flame must be close to 2000 degrees feherenheit to have that refractory glow red like that. This is awesome technology. Too bad there isn't away to dry wood chips properly. The township here is always chipping trees and dumping the chips into large piles for them to rott. gasification would be awesome for them

  • Your right wood chips may be the fuel of the future , once we catch up with the european technoligy . I love fire wood because of ease of storage and drying .

  • Can it make steam?

If not, why is it called a boiler?

  • Say goodby to the creosote with this one!

  • Makes sense. I have oil hot water now, so I was thinking about upgrading that to a high-efficiency unit as my backup.

I'm just not sure about the total cost of installing 2 new boilers at the same time! The oil boilers are going for anywhere from $3,000 to 6,000 depending on the efficiency rating. I would imagine the Econoburn is at least as much.
