Roland SP-808 Demonstration...

Gettin more comfortable with the SP-808.
Upgraded the ZIP to 250mb, got 61min. of sampling time @ 44.1khz...

Paid about $226 US for it and an DR-202 off e-bay...got lucky for real

did you have to update the operating software on your SP 808 to enable the use of a 250MB Zip disc?

Yes, to get the full sound of the vinyl, use your mixer as a preamp...I have used this setup live!

@mack460 - just curious did you swap out with the I-Omega zip drive 250 mb? I ask because I just bought myself an sp-808 at a pawn shop for (get this) 60.00! Haha but it has the 100 mb zip drive and came without a disk so i couldn't get it to play but it does work (just waiting on the disk to ship to me) I've looked at the iomega zip drive and it looks to be external so my question to you is can I put the omega zip drive in the 808 or will it just hook up externally? thanx

damn i should've checked ebay i dropped 600 for my 606 but it was brand new
