@peytonjmusic Freddie talks about it his playing hiatus in an interview. Search for When Your Chops Are Shot in google. It's an article by Fred Shuster. Hubbard injured his lip because he played too much and then tried to challenge Jon Faddis, of all people, to a high note duel. Then later his top lip "popped" as he calls it.

@93mr0 oleo from relaxin'. He spends a good amount of time restrained, which is great, but he also shows that he's capable of shredding with alot of control (he only really shows it for a few secs though)...He generally plays with great forethought and develops a solo.
