U.S. poet John Ashbery reads the poem "Interesting People of Newfoundland " from Notes from the Air, winner of the 2008 International Griffin Poetry Prize.
I love the rambling story quality of this poem and particularly "we were a part of all that happened there / the evil and the good and all the shades in between"
Great clip, though I wouldn't call him "un-graspable, inexplicable and as mysterious as the Delphic oracle". The point is to try and understand his poetry, it sure is difficult but hopefully rewards the persistent reader with plenty of meaning
