first off, their argument is based on religion. second, this would only extend parents' totalitarian authority over their children even beyond legal emancipation at age 18. i cannot and will never support advocation of stalinist totalitarianism over unsuspecting children.

I see this so-called constitutional amendment as giving parents the right to beat their kids. Its so broadly worded that "Government Interest" Could be the most narrow of meanings. I hope congress defeats this unwise bill.
