@squaferno - seconded. While the synth sax feels too fake at times, the bass and deeper notes are haunting and are so for the *right reasons*. It's one of my favorite compositions of the theme as well. Had Dominic Glynn (the composer) had better equipment, the sax would have been perfect. I can tell where he was going for with the theme and it works. A real sax would have done better than the synth sax, though...

the bit i like the most about this is the sound at the beggining

A lot of people don't like this title music but it's one of my favourites. A lot better than the Smith title music.

@arthuraz Your comment reminds me of Who in a Minute: Regeneration.

In addition to the zooming smile of DOOM that I mentioned before, what about the theme tune? The opening note is really discordant, even when compared to the Davison titles' loud opening synth squeal.

I believe the entire opening title is quite scary, but that part sure wins the prize. His face changes from a "I know it all" smile to a creepy "I'm gonna get you" smile! LOL

@CNash85 hell yes

I've never noticed before till I read your comment and pressed play again. That is scary!

@upchuck69 RTD, 12th Doctor. Didn't happen. FORTUNATELY.

really liked this version of the opening titles, wish they used it for more than just trial of a time lord
I liked Colin Baker as the Doctor as he made him unpredictable, if not a little unstable. It was too bad he was dealt with some really bad stories and execs who didn't like him.
The Trial of a Timelord was a brilliant idea that unfortunately fell apart after 'Mindwarp'. I hope R.T.D. will find a way to revive The Valeyard when he gets to the 12th Doctor.
