@bevis113 yup your right, that is the longest comercial flight but I thought it was NY to Johannesburg. With the tail winds one of the flights can go nonstop and the other needs to refuel? I haven't flown either way so you may be right

At some times during long flights, the lights are dimmed and people close the windows so everybody gets a chance to sleep ;)

It's the longest? I think Los Angeles - Faaa (French Polynesia) is longer than this. It takes 21 hours and 50 minutes ( I checked on the Air France official website).
