One of the most common questions I get concerns the shave-life of a DE blade. This episode addresses that question.

  • Hey Mantic, I've been watching your videos for a while now and they have improved my shaving by leaps and bounds. The one thing I can't get any info on is a good affordable cabinet to store my newly forming collection of razors and brushes. I've seen some pretty cool home made stuff, and alot of guys just have somthing cobbled together but nothing manufactured for this. Does anybody make one under a hundred dollars? Thanks again,Coma

  • @ComaSeason i got a very nice cabinet from Target last year.

  • what do you think of wilkison sword blades. the reviews are VERY ranged and mixed

  • @jaffarm I've only tried wilkinson's once and I found them just "OK" for me.

  • I love your video series, made my conversion to wet shaving a lot less painful and a heck of a lot more enjoyable. I store my active blades in a container of isopropyl alchol and I've found that they keep sharp for twice as long as just air drying. According to some message boards seems like the minerals in tap water tend to rough out air dried blades. Your thoughts.

  • I am experimenting with keeping my blades in alcohol. So far I haven't noticed any difference though.

  • i tried out several razors and blades near age 18 as my hairs is soft its so easy to use any blades etc but now at age 26 even mach3 cant give me close shave in neck area and often cuts appears during shave even with mach3 and in this region hair is feel like thorn only thing that work slightly is shaving after bath and stretch that area skin now days iam using single blade traditional razor like old gillete one .and my blades also gone off after few usage

  • Hey, Mantic, I'm new to DE shaving anf I was wondering how you tell when its time to change the blade?

  • I get 6-7 shaves out of most DE blades I've tried . I have a medium beard and shave every other day , so each blade last's me 2 weeks . The Israeli personna's seem to be good for me . Feather blades cost 4 times the price and don't seem to be any better . Last year I used about 25 blades for a grand total of around $5.00

  • What do you think about Dorco blades? I have been using them since July when i first got into safety razors. I get them for 20 cents each at a local barber. I got feather blades for christmas but haven't used them yet. How would you compare them? I saw that they might be too sharp for beginners in one of the other videos you had.

  • The trick is to clean the blade with a towel after the shaving. Everytime.

I use 1 blade more than 2 months, i shave everyday.

  • I'm not sure the extra work is worth it, but i find i can double the number of good shaves by washing the blade clean and drying it with a paper towel after each use. The rationale is that even stainless steel pits and rusts, contributing to a bad shave. On the other hand, blades aren't all that expensive...and life is short enough

  • I change my blade everyday
