  • what does it mean when a note is an x. like at measure 35. i notice the note sounds like..... idk the word to describe it. "carried" i guess

  • @GWFKing it's the jazz notation for what's commonly called a ghosted note, which is a note that is more implied than played.

  • @Bone2BWildMusic what do you mean implied

  • @GWFKing I mean hinted at, partially played, not given full value or volume. Sometimes words and notation can't fully explain things and can just serve as a guide. Just use your ears for the explanation.

  • @Bone2BWildMusic Oh I see. Well it wasn't a big deal anyway all you do is put in Ab if you're a bari player with the same notes.

  • @MrHeavanell the PDF of this solo, available at the Hornheads web site, is in the correct transposition.

  • @Bone2BWildMusic I think you should put it into treble clef for all the bari players out there. Makes our job easier ;)
