  • i dont think its necessary to go to school for graphics and design. i didnt go and i work for myself now. it takes hard work but it can be done

  • @SilverSmokeDesign Hey, that's great! :) For sure you can do it. I think for a lot of people though, getting some formal training can make it easier and give employers at least some assurance that you have the training you need to do the job. Especially if the degree comes from a well known program that covers what needs to be covered.

  • Would I need a degree for a photographer career?

  • @vroituz1 For the best chances, getting some strong training will help you get a job for sure. Do you 100% need a degree? No. Will it most likely help and get you noticed more? Yes.

  • this is a great video!!! even tho a degree helps a lil. it dousnt come in the definition of graphic design..if you know what im saying..i dont think you nessacerly need that piece of paper to sell urself... a portfolio, photo shop, and a good bussness state of mind is great to have.. even tho you need much more you can still survive out there in graphic land without it

  • @SilverSmokeDesign I didn't go to school and I'm getting better job opportunities than my peers with art degrees.

I have 20 or more friends who have gone to art school and none are pursuing serious art related jobs presently. Employers aren't hiring them and they have a 40K debt over their head. While I've saved up 20K not attending college.

Who has the advantage in life?

  • great goals for students, but i would re-film this with a higher end camera.

  • i just recieved my AA in graphic design from a community college. can anyone tell me the classes that i will expect for getting my BA ( im going to east bay)

  • Thanks

  • Thank u

  • I would have been screwed without going to college. Not everything was new, but some was pretty big.
