This is for those freakos who keep insisting I upload this. :D Here ya go!!

So, today I'm finishing off the Custom Action Figure tutorial, as a quick over view on how to do customs!! YAAY!! So the last step, Is painting. Remember, if you have ever taken an art class in your life..YOU ALREADY KNOW MORE THAN ME!! So grab y our paints, brushes, and GET TO WORK! Best way to get it done is to JUST DO IT!!

I use GW Citadel Paints (can be found here: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/home.jsp). If you opt to use the cheap 50 cent acrylic paints from your craft store, don't be surprised if they melt or warp your figure's joints. I do recommend you use the cheap stuff for practice, but PLEASE not on the good 6 inch figures!! Find some crappy 5 inchers or anything else and practice on them first :D

Please always put down a cover over your workspace, such as one of those cheap plastic tablecloths or a bunch of newspapers *something!* as yes, YOU WILL MAKE A MESS. Trust me..why do you think those hard-core artists in the movies always wear stupid-looking robes...cause they are gonna get covered in rainbows..lol!

I use hard-core nail polish remover to clean up any little messes, but please be very careful as you might just be spreading it around instead of cleaning. It will strip your figures down to the plastic, so beware of using it on faces if you don't plan on painting a new one.

SO! Tell me what your next Custom project will be in the COMMENTS below!! DONT FORGET TO UPLOAD A VIDEO ABOUT YOUR CUSTOM FIGURES AND LINK IT HERE!!

  • Cool, awsome custom figure! Well done!

I've got a question. I've made my own custom figure and used GW Citadel paints. However, I'm a bit disapointed because whenever I pose the figure around, the paint gets chipped off or scratches off. So I'm afraid of touching him at the moment. I was wondering if there was some kind of paint protecter. I only found Krylon matte finish but I'm not sure if it will protect the paint.

    Please help

  • @peppy4brawl thats the question of the century. I have pretty much given up looking for the best sealer, but im sure other people haven't so just google it and stuff, you know? The most I do is make sure i get a figure that doesn't chip, and for the ones that do, dremmel the heck out of it so it doesn't chip. I think the best is a combination of dremmeling/sanding and a good sealer.

  • @TheCookiinCompany So, when you pose your custom figures, does the paint from the joints come off? Also, when your Batman was holding onto Inque's long arm, I noticed that the paint was fine. Is it because you put varnish on it to protect the paint?

Sorry for all the questions :(

  • @peppy4brawl on certain figures, yes, there is paint rub. my Inque figure doesnt, partly because of the gloss, but mostly because i didnt have to paint over the joints (they were already black)..now lemme see what pic you are talking about

  • @peppy4brawl ok, the long arm, i did not gloss that with citadel, I used the Sculpey satin.

  • That came out great (:

  • @TIM6669 thanks ^_^
