The famous NASA tether incident STS-75, is said to be a video with good and genuine UFO evidence. For non-technical and mistery-attracted people, there may be misteries. But in close inspection and understanding of some hidden little optical and technical principles, then the "space debris" explanation is the winner, and the most logical and likelihood solution, so easy that, for many is unbelievable. The UFO hypothesis is just that: a speculation, a good solution for everything that surpass immediate understanding.
There are many aspects of the NASA video, only one of these is presented here using a little easy experiment in my backyard,....the illusion of little defocused particle appearing big and behind distant strings (or objects). Take a look.

its an intersting theory but the fact that the objects in the tether footage are only visible in the upper light spectrum suggests they have no physical mass meaning unfortunately, the experiment doesnt cut it. nice try tho
This is the worst "evidence" to discredit something I have ever seen! Hanging a twig in the air does nothing to explain the tether incident. Stop falling asleep during the lectures man, you gotta listen to get the knowledge XD!!!
By the way you used a regular camera, and if I'm not mistaken , the "tether incident" was filmed w/ an Ultra-violet camera (or infra-red,)...I,m not sure the effect would be the same, and by the way in this 'explanation' as the pin moves (truly in front, but giving the illusion of being behind) it slighly but clearly blurs the background, something that doesn't happen in the NASA footage.
forget the objects that appear to pass behind the tether and look for the whole/other shuttle footage, which shows different looking objects that change direction, speed at impossible angles. By the way this"explanation" differs drastically from that of other skeptics which described the large 'donut-shaped' ojects as optical illusions caused by " over-exposed camera lens" (see Hist.chann.episode).now my question is: which one is the 'right' one?
ok is it me, or does that moronantidote sound like a desperate person. i see this moron everywhere there's a video about this stuff. give it up dude , your opinion sucks.
Well that really cleared things up didn't it. The argument to end all arguments is "your opinion sucks."? That's about as absurd as the meaning of life revelation in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy :P

The problem is that the people you are trying to convince usually aren't intelligent enough to understand it!
I'll get your coat for you shall i?
