When this blast furnace was planned it was intended to have another identical furnace alongside so they could work in tandem. This would have ensured continuous production & improved the efficiency of each furnace. When one was on shut down for essential maintenance the other would operate. As usual in this country the 2nd furnace was never completed though it laid in pieces awaiting construction for years before being sold overseas. Was this filmed on the Gare road?
