Good tip, Noho.
Cut, back up, turn, cut, back up, turn, etc. Short, light cuts let you cut a tight radius and each shallow cut creates a straight line kerf that the next cut will track in so the blade won't snake in the thick wood. It works on the bandsaw too.

The adjustment of the blade is important for the scroll saw.
