*when i get a chance, i wll add titles to explain whats going on in the video*
a video i made using the windows vista speech recognition software. i unfortunately could not add my voice to match the corresponding commands, but you should be able to read onscreen text.

it should be in control panel, and in the start menu. in the start menu search box, type speech recognition, and see if Windows Speech Recognition shows up in the menu. if not u can go to control panel and look for the gray microphone symbol

windows vista, if you have vista home premium or better (not home basic) go to control panel, and then speech recognition. it will walk you through a small tutorial, adjust your microphone volume, and tell you the basic commands for speech recognition. the software i used to record the video is crap and expires after a few files have been saved.

Desktop Microphones work very well on vista speech recognition. My Vista speech recognitions accuracy is about 99% accurate.
Although my desktop microphone is noise cancelling and it is a very high quality desktop microphone and it even remains 99% accurate when i am abou 2 meteres from it.

if its noise canceling then that should work, ive never used a noise cancelling one, i have one, but it for some reason only runs on xp (its by mvox, but i found the driver disc) i said that desktop microphones dont work well because i had the kind u just plug in and use, and the ones built into laptops, those suk, but yeah i forgot to mention noise canceling
