Here is part three of my Tascam DP-02/CF porta-studio video tutorial, In this video I will demonstrate how to record one track and then record another, I hope this helps you. If you need further help message me or comment. Additonaly if you need even more help I possibly guide you over the phone.

If you don't like my tutorials check this guy's out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3tO0YX4qfo&feature=related

I have learned that the DP-02 has been discontinued and replaced with the DP-03 :( Well I will still be here to provide assistance and hopefully in the future provide help on other Tascam products.

  • I'll try that thank you!!!

  • @dagozepp No problem

  • We have the same recorder but our recording come out muddy on guitar. We tried both a mic and direct recording from our line 6 amp but everything sounds muddy. We just got it on ebay used could the flash card be bad. Thanks for you help.

  • @dagozepp I seriously doubt it is that, Umm make sure the efffects are turned off, make sure it isn't peaking and maybe adjust the EQ on the Amp to see if it changes. Also adjust the Eq on the Dp-02 itself, that is all i can think of at the moment, See if that helps. If you have anymore questions or problems let me know.

  • @hunter1801 ...forgot about that...Yes you could do that provided it is a line out and not a headphone out which would cancel the speaker... If you have any more questions let me know.

  • @PoliticalDestruction Would I just be able to plug a cable from the line out on the amps directly into the DP-02?

  • @hunter1801 Ah well if you close mic it say with 2 sure SM57's it shouldnt bleed to much from the drums provided you have your amps loud enough which they should be...No it doesnt haven a mixer, that is simply to mix what you record... a seperate mixer would be a mixer that everything runs into and then the out puts of the mixer into the 2 inputs on the DP-02...Let me know if you have any more questions.

  • @PoliticalDestruction Don't think micing it would be best. We play in a small room and the drums will get in I think. Might even pick up the bass/guitar on the opposite mics a bit. I thought the unit was supposed to be a mixer already. What do you mean by a separate one?

  • @hunter1801 Well there is 2 ways, Either run 2 mics into the 2 inputs wich is very simple but quality will lack for recording everthing...The other way to do it is to use a Mixer of your choice with any aamount of mics you feel like using and run everything into the DP-02 or seperate the guitar and bass if you so choose. If you simply want to record the 1 guitar and 1 bass the first would be the easiest. If you have any more questions let me know.

  • Is there any way we (my band) can record through here while we are rehearsing? We want to be able to record the guitar and bass so that the drummer can have those parts to rehearse with on his own. We want to be able to play from our amps, but have it be recording on this.
