I love the Alan Zweig films; Vinyl, I Curmudgeon, Loveable. Great cinema doesnt have to have a budget of millions, many big Hollywood projects are compromised. Alan Z. proves content and narrative are what is essential...
For myself it is the music first and on the original format second,I would'nt collect vinyl if there was'nt any music on them or I could'nt play them.
Im not too fussy about condition, as long as it's not thrashed. As long as no crakle, im down, espacially the undisputed truth joint i got this arvo.. ughh
I collect for the music and the album cover. Sometimes I buy weird stuff just for the cover, especially those goony religious records with the big hair people and great old tour buses on the covers.
Good point. I'd add that 8 track tapes can have better sound than any other format since they are closest to the original professional recording tape stock used back then. CD's never get me as jazzed as LPs.

Hey, I dig Joni Mitchell, but any woman that would want me to throw away The Meters, but keep Joni Mitchell, would not be worth marrying.
