why do you want to find the people in the video so badly???
i think i may know who they are.
-
Bet you regret that now ? I know I would if I was in your shoes.
-
Maybe some day the original owners may well spot this video and contact me, who knows eh ? Would love to know the date the footage from Blackpool Tower was taken.
-
i remember that view when iwas in blackpool a few years back for the pigeon show,id say the owners of this film would love it back,if you can ever track them down.

The Blackpool sequence was filmed after the 1976 footbridge was opened across the promenade, but before the new RNLI lifeboat station was opened in 1998.
It does not show the 1990 big wheel on Central Pier.
The double-deck tram still has a trolley boom instead of the pantograph of today.
I used to shoot cine film in the 1960s and had the habit of splicing old and new film on to one reel, so the other sequences could be anytime.
I think I saw the twin spires of Cologne Cathedral in there.

Thank you for all that very interesting info on Blackpool, very helpful indeed. Slowly all the little bits of information will eventually piece together and maybe throw up some clues on who it may be in the video. As yet no one has come forward.
Thanks for watching and being very helpful.

Some of this is taken in Brussels, Belgium. The church like buiding is the Grand Palace. The futuristic looking structure is the Atomium built for the 1958 Expo. It was planned to be demolished after the exhibition, but remains today as a tourist attraction. The air show maybe Blackpool air show.
