Lightsaber practice with Jedi Training Remote on the Moon

The beginning of this vid was for a big Christmas vid I planned in Dec2010. Encountering many delays for many reasons, I decided to make an Epic Vid and write out the Christmas stuff. The beginning was finished in early January 2011. Having second thoughts on the heated video aimed at the top of Youtube, I decided not to do the video. I then thought of how I could use the beginning of this vid, after tons of bs and being fed up with Youtube in general, I put a quick end on the Epic Vid beginning just to get it uploaded and out of my mind.

The lightsaber beginning was shot in front of a blue screen with a FlipUltraHD camera on a tripod. It was 4am in the lady's room at my apartment complex's rec room. I secured the blue screen to a large well lit wall with blue tape and clear tacks. The Flip was on it's side on the tripod for max resolution. Filming took place in Vancouver Washington, Dec 18th 2010.

Nice work, the remote looks great. I've been planning a training ermote video, there aren't that many around. Lightsabers are a pain to rotoscope though eh? I see you have some fans ;)

@Kie77 Thanx. Yeah, lightsabers are the hardest effect to do in my opinion, since the effect lasts longer on screen. People that do gun fire & stuff have it easy. If you shoot 24fps you'll have less work to do, this was 30fps. The remote is rotoscoped right out of StarWars. Fans? Not many, I'm not promoted by Youtube, all the big tubers know me & don't promote me either, I don't talk about LadyGaGa & Twilight & stuff, I'm not a prettyboy or show tits. This site is lame
