Fantastic walkthrough! Much appreciated, I don't own the E82 or E88 coupe models but do own the E81 (3 door hatchback 2007-2011) and I can confirm the door assembly is identical which is the most time consuming replacement.

The rear speakers for the E81 are either side of the parcel shelf when you open the boot, very accessible.

This guide is just perfect for replacing the speakers which i definitely intend on doing, thankyou!

@bavsound: I just figured out that the shipping costs to get your gear to Holland are very, very high. I'd love to place your speakers in my BMW, but are there any other possibilities for transporting them than the website offers..?

@rainman25a Hi Reinier, I think you'll be amazed at how much better the new speakers sound. Very open, smooth, detailed sound. We plan on providing an amp upgrade in the future, but we have literally never had a customer feel like they need an amp upgrade after installing a Stage I! The speakers are by far the weakest link in the chain.

@bavsound thanks for your quick reply! Now I'm sure your set of speakers fits my car, I'm about to order them for my BMW. Still I'm wondering; will only replacing the speakers be enough to improve the sound quality that much? Won't I need another amp..? It's kind of tricky, there I'm not able to first try your speakers. On the other hand, I consider you as an expert on car audio systems and the sooner the terrible sound in my car is gone, the better!
