St. George Children's Choir is in its debut year! Our children attend St. George Parish School in the heart of the Beacon Hill neighborhood, in Seattle, WA.
The children range from First Grade to Fourth Grade. The choir began as a way for the students to gain a sense of ownership, leadership, and a great set of PIPES!
St. George has been dedicated to serving children from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and family backgrounds. Our school boasts excellence in academics, faith based and socially just education, as well as a strong commitment to
extracurricular activities such as music, math and sports!
The St. George Children's Choir focuses mainly on songs for Catholic Mass. The kids LOVE singing Amazing Grace, Change our Hearts, The Song of St. Patrick, Morning Has Broken and more!
The children have learned songs from various cultures that are represented at the school as well, and can sing a mean WHEN IRISH EYES ARE SMILING!
Mr. Valencia and the kids are working on a whole new repertoire for the Green Festival. The children are VERY excited to share what they have learned over the past year. This will be their FIRST time performing outside of school and church.
Our children have worked closely with THEO Chocolate and Ten Thousand Villages, here in Seattle, and are very aware of learning about and fighting for the rights of the worker, as well as environmental impacts. They currently compost and recycle as part of a school wide effort to keep our earth GREEN!
Thank you for having us at the Green Festival. We are honored!.
