  • You're welcome! And don't forget, the full DVD with many other races is available at the Speedvids web site!

  • Are all these tracks Still around?

  • The tracks at Trenton NJ, Flemington NJ and Langhorne PA are gone. The track at Indy is still there, of course. Not sure about Allentown PA, and looks like Reading PA has a track, not sure if it's the same one as in the 1950's, though.

  • Oh, thanks for posting this montage. It actually brought back fond memories of watching these same drivers race when I was dating my wife.

  • You're welcome.

  • When your tire beats you to the pits, it's definitely not your day!

  • Haha, how true.

  • I love the shot of Eddie Sachs at Reading.... Trenton, gone, Langhorne, gone, Reading, gone.....progress sux. The mile and a half Trenton track was the greatest speedway I've ever seen. The right hand dogleg really equalled the competition as far as chassis setup. There was not another track like it.

  • How great would it have been to see these kinda races...I mean I can see how dangerous this musta been for the drivers (and the fans heheh) but hey Im 30 and Ill never getta see races like this...just grab and actual STOCK car knock out the winders paint on some numbers and get er out there...musta been great

  • That was great! It brings to light how tough it was back when my uncle, Jimmy Florian, won the very 1st NASCAR for Ford in 1950 on a dirt track. He knew all those tough racing guys. Here is a video of my 85 year old dad, Jimmy's younger brother, going 150 MPH in a Petty car 5/7/11 at Darlington! The desire for speed runs in the DNA at ANY age! Its on UTube under the title:

"Ford's 1st NASCAR win's brother racing at age 85!" These guys are truly "the greatest generation"

  • Good job on your video I liked it very much!

  • I wouldn't have attended a race in those days. There's almost nothing between the track and the spectators for protection.

  • You did a really great job of putting the sound into this! I wish I was around in those days to see this!

  • Awesome stuff - Anyone out there have footage of racing at Jungle Park, Indiana. Big time racing in the day along Sugar Creek 1 hour west of the Indy 500 in Parke county, Indiana. The track is still there! So is one of the grandstands! I think the last race was in the mid 50's. Just a shot in the dark here but if anyone has something - please post.

  • Very nice video! Thanks for sharing!

  • No I havent bought it yet but I will next week...BTW I dont think $14.95 is unreasonable looks like some awesome footage..but in the YouTube generation ya know..maybe drop it a couple bucks and find some other ways to promote it
