Yeah a small tornado did go through south Lakeland - Highlands City area. The tornado was small but it was strong enough to rip trees from the ground. No significant damage in my area thankfully. Just ripped apart fences, put some trees in the road, and flooded a little bit.

Is it radioactive rain? Up here in Canada, Burnaby Mountain BC, they tested rain water at the Simon Fraser University and found low levels of radiation. Already! Anybody know whether a Britta filter can filter out nuclear radiation?

I went through this storm. It lasted most of three days! It was very very eerie the last day. The lighting seemed to be up in the sky, and the thunder would just roll for long times off into the distance. Power was knocked out all over central Fl. My house lost power for 48 hrs. As they didn't have enough personnel to fix all the outages. There were many tornadoes also.

@Howie47 Right. It lasted for three days here too, but this was the worst of it, on the third day. I saw the pictures on Bay News 9 of the funnel cloud that was outside of Lakeland, I believe. I'm glad you have your power back! I was lucky to not lose mine, since I have a one year old, it would've been rough. I agree about the thunder too. The very first night it started storming, the thunder seemed to go on and on.

@1dutchgrl I don't think this was powerful enough to be considered a micro-burst. It pretty much rained steadily this almost all day long.
