Jacqui hit by teen drunk driver

Jacqui was hit, but not killed by a drunk driver. Two passengers in the car were killed at the scene and two were rescued. Within minutes, the car caught fire. Jacqui was pinned in the front seat on the passenger side. She was burned over 60% of her body; no one thought she could survive. But Jacqui lived. Her hands were so badly burned that all of her fingers had to be amputated. She lost her hair, her ears, her nose, her left eyelid and much of her vision. She has had more than 50 operations since the crash and has many more to go.

I cried so hard. Jaquie, I am oh so very very sorry. I will pray for you. May God be with you, wherever you go. I'm so, so very sorry. I wish it could have been me instead of you, and I don't even know you. I'm so sorry. I cried so hard when I watched this. So sorry.

We were all taken to the hospital. My brother had a broken arm and cut leg, but he was OK. My little brother was crying in his bed. My friend had a black eye from the airbag. My nose was bleeding but I was OK. My little brother was perfectly OK. The driver went to another hospital. He was severely hurt. He was sent to jail after a month. We got out of the hospital pretty quick. My friend can't sleep. Her dog keeps her company. I still have nightmares. My brother has pain when he sleeps.

Dear Jaquie, I am only 17 years old, and have experienced your pain. I was driving with one friend with her dog in the kennel. I was 16. My little brother was also in the back seat, he was 10, my older brother was 20. He was drunk, but he wasn't over the legal limit. He was 0.02.But he wanted to be careful. Then a truck came and crashed into our SUV. We all screamed as we stopped. I was terrified. The truck driver was drunk. Everyone was OK including the dog. Only a few bruises and scratches.
