  • im looking into buying a 61, but it needs a motor like that, what did you do to it?

  • Heehee. Thats hilarious. You hear beeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, then you hear the vair, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

  • that *is* fast!

  • It really sounds like a Porsche. Cool sporty sound.

  • nice that vw-porsche style sound boxer engine!

  • @jamacadada very true, had mine coming off as it was too tight...it will probably vary from car to car, but a few people I have talked to and me agree that when the car is cold, you should be able to move the alternator with a bit more than dead weight on your finger, what most ignore is that as the engine runs, the tension increases and the belt gets tighter, over do it and it pops. Not to mention how hard it is on the bearings. Good belt a must, too.

  • Nice 240Z... Is that what the owner did after you wooped him w the Vair?

  • @Ottobon Belt throwing on vairs was from wrong size belt, or improperly tensioned belts. Most people overtighten and they break or throw. The right belt, tensioned properly will stay on.

  • thoroughly impressed--didn't know Corvair had it in it until I met my neighbor. Ride with him if you dare.

  • nice
