The Gretsch Black Penguin could be the ultimate Gretsch guitar, combining all the bling of the Falcon with the elegant shape and styling of the Duo Jet. The resonant thump of the chambered mahogany body and maple top melds perfectly with the bite of the DynaSonic Single Coil pickups, resulting in a tone that has as much warmth as it does grind. Individual and master volume
controls, with a master tone and a 3-way pickup selector, offer a unique palette of sonic possibilities perfect for dirty rock, blues, country, and rockabilly. The Gretsch Black Penguin 's neck is made of one solid piece of mahogany capped with a 12" radius ebony fingerboard, and inlaid with stylish hump-block inlays. It also features stunning gold sparkle binding on both body and neck, matching beautifully with the gold hardware, including a Synchro-Sonic Bridge, "G" Cadillac tailpiece, Grover Imperial Tuners, and Rhinestone-inlaid knobs. http://proguitarshop.com/store/guitars-gretsch-guitars-c-1_667/gretsch-g6134b...

  • @maskedmillionaire Andy uses a pick sometimes, but nobody ever notices because it sounds identical :)

  • @klukke The RAT pedal is an original first issue big box RAT from 1979. Not the "vintage" reissue.

  • @TomRAFC it's cool to hear the smiths in a guitar review. it's usually heavy rock or country/blues (no that there's anything wrong with that!) but it was nice to hear that great riff

  • What does Andy play at the beginning? It rocks

  • @FretLegendSmithy he certainly does!

  • if i'm not wrong i think he's playing shoplifters of the world unite by the smiths at 2:04

  • No more gretsch in PGS? :O

  • Has got to be the prettiest sounding guitar I've heard yet.

  • @perfectionless I hear you. Why do they have to be so darn expensive? Couldn't they release a cut price model at around $1000?

  • I want a penguin sooo badly....to bad its outta my price range :(

  • well...now I know what I want for Xmas...

  • hmm is it just me or does Andy kinda look like Jim Adkins from Jimmy Eat World?
