I did your curlformer technique last night and, my hair looks GREAT! Here's the question...what about day 2? How do I maintain these curls and, for how long?

sugabug, i used to only get sets when i was relaxed, and to keep those curls, i'd pincurl them at night...or sleep on rollers which i did for most of my years!

i don't know how you ever did this dry, whitney! Mskiyah91, i had the same problem at first, but once i wet the hair really well (and i was using shea moisture mousse), it got easier. i was even able to use some larger sections. i need a few more tho' as i have the 40 long and wide + 6 short and wide kit, and my hair was a little too long for the short ones i ended up having to use. so the roots will not be straight on those as i pulled them down to make sure the ends were straight.

hate to undermine the curlformer brand, but got 30 of the knockoffs for $30 on ebay. it was all i needed. better than paying $140 for 80.

I am on my way to get my Curlformers!! Happy Mother's Day to me! Can anyone tell me if I should or need to put some flax seed gel when I set my hair. I use it along with my shae butter whip for my twist outs and I love it. I just don't want my hair stuck in the Curlformer when it is time to take them off. :-)

When I big chopped after 9 months of transitioning, my hair was still way too short to stay down. After months of trying everything (thicker products to weight it down, pinning & trying to stretch it), I finally learned to embrace my non-laying down hair and waited for it to grow long enough to weigh ITSELF down (about mid back now). Now, I miss how easy my short hair was to style. Give yourself time and try to embrace whatcha got. It'll lay down soon enough with patience and care.
