This music accompanies a "trance dance" performed by the monks of Ganden Sumtseling Gompa, also known "Sumtseling Monastery" or "Songzanlin Si." The monastery is located near the Southeastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau in Yunnan Province, north of the city of Zhongdian or "Shangri-La."

  • what are these horns called?? they sound soo beautiful

  • I believe they're called Dungchen. They do sound beautfiful! They really fill the air around them with sound, standing near one feels like standing near a big subwoofer. Plus, it carries over long distances, just like the long horns they use in the Alps.
