In the video we demonstrate how to recharge a K&N air filter on a Performance Machine Super Gas Air Cleaner.

Is your K&N Filter element in your PM A/C turning white?

If the K&N Air Filter Element on your bike is beginning to loose its original red color it might be time for a re-charge.

K&N recommends re-charging your air filter every 50,000 miles depending on driving conditions. You may notice the red oil in the filter fading sooner. This is due to the filter being exposed and needs to be re-charged. In fact the oil plays a detrimental part in filtering dirty particles.

Get yourself a K&N Recharger filter care service kit consisting of K&N Power Kleen and Air Filter Oil.

First remove the filter form the cleaner and spray the Power Kleen onto both sides of the filter. Allow 10 minutes to soak and loosen any dirty particles.

Next you want to rinse the filter with cool low-pressure water. REMEMBER to rinse from the clean sire out, this flushes the dirt out of the filter. Make sure to rinse cleaner out of the filter. You might have to re-apply Power Kleen to completely clean the filter, simply repeat the first two steps.

Almost done, after you rinse the filter shake off the excess water and allow the filter to naturally dry. It is important to not oil the filter until it is completely dry.

Last thing to do is apply the air filter oil. Make sure to apply the oil evenly along the top of each bend. Allow the oil to "wick" the filter for at least 20 minutes and touch up any light areas until there is a uniform red color throughout.
