  • Single problem with this video - background sound in the "you pretty much have to be" segment is a bit... wonky.

And speaking as someone with no more than a passing knowledge of Macbeth - nice recovery when they discover MacDuff dead. Where's that speech from?

  • Yeah, the sound was a consistent problem - we were working with a Flip Mino HD, which, while a fabulous little camera, has no mic jack! So it was go with the on-board sound or sync the stuff we re-recorded.

And thank you. :-) You mean the exchange between Mark/Macbeth and Lee at the very end? It's Act 5, Scene 8 of Macbeth.

  • Whoever played Dan blank was fucking phenomenal. He got the voice, the physicality, even the adoration for vampire Shakespeare.

  • That's why I love casting people as the characters I based on them! :-P

  • "Macbeth gets beheaded anyway" This line made me DIE. It's both hilarious and kind of heartbreaking.

  • That was "written" at the last minute and was the very last thing we filmed - I'm glad it worked for you!

  • Sound was a problem and the bit in the beginning where she holds the vampire back was a bit obvious. Like you did the one rehearsal and filmed it as opposed to rehearsing it and then filming a faster better choreographed version of it.

You see the way they do it in the series, Even in the training sessions they don't look like they're training. It's fluid.

Otherwise I liked the story idea and the characterization wasn't bad.

  • I love the whole thing, but I think my favorite favorite bit is the mirror scene. Awesome.

  • Do you mean when the three guys (Malcolm, Ross and Siward) discover Macduff dead in the middle of their scene after Macbeth kills him or when they substitute the fight director after the original actor is killed? The Malcolm/Ross/Siward scene is the last scene of the show (just before Macduff brings Macbeth's head on). I love that scene and it was so interesting seeing it with dead body (and not that of Young Siward!) on stage!

  • I love the juxtaposition of the classic text and the modern issues - when "Mark" says "out, out brief candle" it sounded so natural that I was totally into it.

    Great work!

  • Excellent vampire movie. I got chills

  • Brilliant.
