@uninterestingentity Hahaha. Not a chance you can render that on a XBox. If you don't understand how limited that console is, I suggest you spend a couple of hours on Wikipedia to catch up.
Graphics: 500 MHz ATI Xenos
Memory: 512 MB of GDDR3 RAM clocked at 700 MHz
CPU: 3.2 GHz PowerPC Tri-Core Xenon
(XBox 360)
Good luck with render that on the mentioned HW.

Maybe it's because I have severe problems with Finnish-English.. but what does he say about that no titles have had full dynamic and volumetric lighting before? I don't get the word after "large scale" at 2:35
Anyway, regardless of that word it's bullshit. Even old Quake had real-time rendering features. Alas, a bit limited, but in that sense you can't really compare with older titles since the hardware development has created a logarithmic scale on the computing power increase.

@95928225 It's also rendering huge parts of the area that aren't used and the (resource-hogging) lighting was added later.
But keep it up, fuck making sense, PC MASTURRRACE FTW LULZ

very hope it won´t be a middle-rate port like L.A. Noire (its a "loveless" PC version)

Alan wake for PC 2012 :awwwwwwwwyeahhhhhhh:
thanks Remedy xD!!!

@uninterestingentity Just imagine, xbox360 barely handle Alan Wake the way it is at 540p to achieve 30fps. Not even 720p, they did it that becuase the stoneage hardware not becuase they wanted . Now imagine Alan Wake in a open world for xbox360, neither Bill Gates can believe that...

@95928225 Why would they show off an open world if there was already a 360 version in the works? LOLZ CONSOLUZ SUX
Fact is, they wouldn't show it off if it wasn't what they were planning, the shift in focus was deliberate and had nothing to do with the platform.
There are plenty of open-world games on consoles, that should be proff enough.

Stupid piece of shit consoles. Fuck consoles in the ass. Dumbing down PC games.
-
@uninterestingentity No, the reason is because consoles were weak even in 2006 compared to PC.
-
@dano555666 Right because there are no open world games on consoles or anything. Some PC gamers are so ridiculous some times. I love open world games they are some of my favorites but Alan Wake would have been horrible open world. It's atmosphere and intensity would have been nowhere near as good. Probably the only time I've ever supported a game going from open world to linear.
@Extnoob
How do they mean nothing? I compared the most popular PC game against the most popular Xbox 360 game. Half Life sold more than Halo 3. That's an amazing feat.
The other games I stated were all PC exclusives so I was showing the PC has great games that sell great.
"Oh, and they fixed that issue."
Fixed what issue, piracy on consoles? Haha, piracy on consoles hasn't been "fixed". It's at an all time high. Halo Reach was already pirated before it's release. It happens with every game.
