Later on that day, Selena was sound asleep on the couch. Her head was snuggled perfectly on a fluffy white pillow while a red blanket rested on her petite body. Beneath her eyelids were nothing but pictures of Nick. No words, no sounds, nothing except for images.
"Selena," a voice said. Selena stirred in her sleep, murmuring Nick's name.
"Selena," the voice called again, this time poking her in the stomach. Selena giggled a bit, her eyes fluttering open. She screamed making the person fall over and bump their head on the coffee table. It was Joe.
"What the hell!" he exclaimed, rubbing his head. Selena covered her mouth, both in shock and laughter. "I'm so sorry," she giggled.
"Yeah, tell that to my now bruised head," he replied, giving her a slight glare.
"Sorry," she said again. "So what gave you the nerve to disturb my sleep?"
"No one's home except for Nick, who's stuck in his room doing shit with his life, and I wanted to play," Joe said with a baby tone. Selena sat up, smoothing out the bird nest that was her hair.
"You couldn't play with yourself?" she asked with a smirk realizing how dirty that sounded. Joe pondered for a moment.
"No, because that's why you're here." He smiled cheekily at Selena who pelted him with a pillow.
She went back to her sleeping position on the couch, grabbing the pillow from Joe and placing it on her face.
"Selly too tired to play," she mumbled into the pillow. Joe snorted.
"You're acting like I asked you." He stood up, pulling Selena's legs off of the couch making her whole body fall to the floor.
"This is assault!" she yelled, kicking her feet at him.
"But you looooove it," Joe said with a chuckle.
Selena stopped, catching her breath. "Fine," she said with a huff. "You win." Joe jumped in the air like a dolphin and did a slight happy dance which included the running man.
"Dude, calm down with the gayness," a raspy voice said making Selena's heart ache. They both turned around facing Nick in only a white v-neck and his favorite blue plaid boxers. "Mind putting on some pants?" Joe asked.
Nick shook his head and smiled that crooked smile of his. "I like the breeze."
Selena rolled her eyes with a smile. It was good to know that Nick had his humor back. "So, what was going on here?" Nick asked, scratching the back of his neck.
"Joe tried to rape me!"
"Liar! She wouldn't play with me."
"So he fucking raped me!"
"Pfft, your mom raped me."
Selena stopped short, her face turning red. She stood up, her hand flying towards Joe's cheek with lighting fury. "Don't you ever say shit about my mother like that!" she barked at him. Joe backed up a bit, rubbing his sore cheek. "S-sel, just calm--"
"You calm the fuck down, Joe!" she yelled. Selena pushed past Nick and ran up to her room, tears of anger flying out of her mocha brown orbs.
"What the hell just happened?" Nick wondered in confusion. Joe's eyes wandered up the stairs while he took a deep breath.
"I guess Sel got some Mama Drama."
Nick sighed, placing his hands on his hips. "What are we gonna do then?"
Joe shrugged. "I don't know 'bout you, but I'm gonna see what's wrong with her." He began to walk up the stairs but stopped and turned to face Nick. "You can join in if you want," he said before continuing his travel.
Nick almost took up that offer but he decided he should give Selena some space. That's all she wanted, right?
