Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Environmental Sciences and Professor of Geosciences at the University of Texas at Brownsville

His education:
Bachelor of Arts at Pennsylvania State, major in anthropology and minor in geography
Studied Spanish at the University of California in Santa Cruz
Master of Arts in anthropology at the University of Arizona
PhD from University of Arizona also, major: anthropology, minor: geography

He has done extensive field work and excursions to anthropological sites in Mexico, especially along la ruta Maya.
