@Edgey80 by perfume do you mean the stuff taht smells good or is that a kind of cleaning liquid i'm not farmiliar with???
cause perfume doesn't sound very healthy for the console and it will smell like perfume all the time

Try 2-3 times, but if the problem is not solved, I recommend you replace your disc drive. Please reply to see if your problem is solved.

I'm only explaining my experience and it works just fine now. Your wii is already fucked up and as you keep using your console, it will stop reading discs eventually. I tried screwing / unscrewing these crap, but no use, it's only a temporary fix. Try to apply little perfume on the outer center of the disc. If you have the official Wii cleaner, do the same (I do not mean to put some on the white lens cleaner) I mean the very center of the disc around the hole.

are you sure this wont fuck up my wii?
and on which side of the disk would i have to apply the alcohol and how much?
i have this same noise comeing from mine and its driving me crazy and i' scared that i will ruin the console if i keep playing games on it
hey can you still close the wii with no problem even with that screw loose?

Actually, I had to cut a piece of plastic from the top part of the case, but it was no big deal, since that piece was there just to hold the driver in it's position I guess.

The problem is not with pressure on the disc or the tightness of the screw but a problem with the top plastic bearing touching the bearing arm while the disc is spinning. Designed with too little clearance in my opinion. A more specific fix would be to fix the bearing arm like I did but your fix is easier. It would probably be wise to get a washer for under the frame where you slackened the screw. Check my account for a video to see the cause and an alternate fix.

I just saw your video, you go straight to the point of the noise (I couldn't identify where it was coming from exactly). Thanks for the info ;)
