Vanity Fair is a 2004 British-American costume drama film directed by Mira Nair and adapted from William Makepeace Thackeray's novel of the same name. The previous subject of numerous television and film adaptations, this version made substantial changes, most notably being the almost complete transformation of the character of Becky Sharp.- Wikipedia

  • Lord Byron brought me here with his beautiful poem.

I've come back to the first episode after thoroughly enjoying the whole movie... and I 'liked' the end. This was absolutely enjoyed : ))

    THANK-YOU!!!

  • @HopeWithPandora You're welcome!:)

  • Can anyone tell me what the woman whispered to the other woman from 4:27 to 4:30?

  • @Lariel172 "An opera girl." :)

  • @xAncientHistoryTVx

Thanks! ^_^ I wonder why they don't like opera girls? Perhaps it's because they are beautiful, have nice voices, and are free to go anywhere and perform? Do they associate that with a hooker or something?

  • @Lariel172 LOL I think they did associate that like being trashy or hooker. :) You're welcome!:)

  • Does anyone know the song that was played in the very beginning?

  • thank you for uploading :)

  • @GlitteringCyclone

Oh, thank you for clearing that up for me. I sort of remembered the part with the actresses, but wasn't too sure about female opera singers back then. Too bad people were so stuck up when it came to them, considering that they were much better looking in potraits than most noble ladies back then...

  • @Lariel172 Until the 19th century pretty much, Opera girls (and actresses) were thought of as not much different than prostitutes. It probably was originally the case, and still in the era of the film, early 19th Century, wealthy aristocrats took young, pretty actresses and opera girls as mistresses. It still goes on today if you think about it, but they're called 'glamour models' now....
