  • @DeathInDublin this is a stupid comment. what is he supposed to do, decline a full professorship at Columbia just because it's TOO successful a position?

  • Thanks Jeff for standing up.. we need people like you to led the badly needed transformation.

  • You go Jeffery..... Dead on right...

  • He is running for presidency here! Funny.

  • "WE are" WTF ????

  • I agree that sachs oughtn't be given the time of day, and that he is a power broker and has intimately contributed to the destruction of Africa, and anywhere else he leads the swarms of NGOs that descend like locust. please. So take a hike sachs, you faux people person.

  • He's not bull shitting. For now...

  • here's a different perspective. I know this guy (from about 20 years ago). He is a genuine idealist and has worked hard to help economic development in Bolivia, and sorting out the mess in Russia in the early 90's, two name two In both cases he advocated aggressive committment of resources by the US/ West (in ways I forgot). In those cases, he failed to persuade the powers that be. But his heart is in the right place; he is smart, and an excellent communicator so let him in the church.

  • This guy is a complete joke. I'm sad these people are entertaining him. Sachs is the man who prescribed the disastrous "economic shock therapy". Sachs is NOT the 99 percent. I know this movement is a broad church but he should be ignored. Madonna will show up next with some kid she nicked from Malawi. Bono will come along then and do a song from his new album and then Peter Sutherland will come along and join him on tambourine.

What happened to the concerns about this movement being co-opted?
