  • Personally I feel you could've killed that first volley. You either could've went for a jump overhead or a dunk smash or a jump/lunge volley down into the court down the line.

Your weight wasn't really gathered so you probably couldn't have pulled off the kill volley (that and your movement was a little slow and lazy, or perhaps not aggressive enough is a better description). But at the very least I think you could've pulled off the jump overhead winner down the line if you went for it.

  • AHHAHA kay now let's talk about the average player.

  • Yoru list is all about serving-volleying which is quite interesting since it's no longer in frequent use on world stage and there's virtually no videos aside yours on youtube...

  • it also takes a long time to learn

  • Yeah. The other day I was so dominant, but last time I played, the ball passed by me. Were not even hard shot to pick off. Wasn't even able to touch them.

If this part of my play doesn't work, against my friend, I am pretty much screwed since it's there I force most errors and force him to attack. Since he plays mostly slices, drop shots and weak shots during game course, it's pretty hard to attack otherwise than on the fly.

Sometime it's your day, other time it's not. That's the game

  • but you know days you're not on, are the days that really matter. anyone can win when they're on. some days I'm good. some days i'm great. jimmy connors said that...

  • This is why I practice more often; to be able to pull the shot at my best without thinking about what I do.

Focus is both my greatest capacity and my worst nightmare. Kind of like Gasquet's backhand; when it's on, I am crazy good, when it'S off, I am crazy awful.

But at 18y.o., I think I have time to get it work correctly.

  • I went to a convention in New York in 2002? and one of the topics was the extinction of the serve and volleyers... it's the new racquets--because the faster you serve, the faster you have to get in, then, the return comes back really fast. BUT I play a lot of age group stuff so it's okay, my age group doesn't pound it and I do run into serve and volleyers
