Video Game Violence Controversey - Arcade Games Banned

In the mid-90's, the video game industry was moving from the sprite-based games into the 3-D / texture-mapping relm. The graphic content was becoming so well-defined it was believed in the media and abroad games were teaching kids how to harm one another. This resulted in certain games that depicted graphic violence being pulled from arcade amusement centers.

good... while you're at it, tell kids the dangers of cops and robbers while they're playing. or even... cowboys and indians... they teach kids intolerance of other cultures and teaches how to us a gun

im just glad old people are starting to die off and get out of the spotlight and more rational adults that grew up with games understand games, movies, music and other artforms are just expressions of the artist...not murder trainers.

These news erpoters should really look into the shit before saying anything about it. You ban video games they go underground and fall into the hands of genuine criminals. To be honest I'd be more concerned with figuring out how to get rid of Gang Members who are hanging out at the Arcade then in banning four video games because of violence, the Gang Members are the real danger not the video games
